About Us

The Sriballav and Sunanda Panigrahi Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in memory of the esteemed couple Sriballav and Sunanda Panigrahi, both of whom dedicated their lives to public service, education, and the upliftment of the marginalised and deprived sections of society. The foundation aims to promote values and ideals that were close to their hearts, such as probity in public life, good governance, and the empowerment of marginalised communities, particularly through education.

Sunanda Panigrahi was born into a literary family where education was of prime importance. She was the daughter of legendary poet and author Dr. Nilamadhab Panigrahi. She completed her BA, MA and MPHil. Despite getting married to Sriballav Panigrahi, who was then a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Odisha, she chose to focus on her career. An Educationist, Writer and Poet, she wore many hats. Despite her deteriorating health she continued being the honorary principal of the Sri Aurobindo Inter College, Sambalpur.
